Zuo Jin/左晉

Zuo Jin, born in Hebei in 1968, has harbored a passion for painting since childhood. He pursued studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, one of the premier art universities in China.
In 2012, he established the Canadian Chinese Society for the Arts, assuming the role of president. Additionally, he serves as the vice president of the Oil Painting Academy of Canada, the Chief Artist at C9 Gallery, and the founder of the Wuxiang art style (Enlightenment School).
Presently dividing his time between Canada and China, Zuo Jin was recognized for fostering cultural exchange between the two regions. In 2012, he was bestowed the title of “China-Canada Cultural Exchange Envoy.” His contributions were further acknowledged with the prestigious “Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal” conferred by the Parliament of Canada.
Zuo’s artistic creations offer unique perspectives and employ diverse techniques to reinterpret natural landscapes and human relationships. Spanning a spectrum of themes and styles over the past decades, his works delve into social issues, science fiction imagery, realistic portrayals, abstract expressions, and the distinctive Wuxiang style, reflecting varied facets of artistic expression.
Several of his iconic works have left a lasting impact on the art world. “Skin Color” garnered significant attention at a Contemporary Art exhibition in the USA in 2015. The “Colored Glasses” series made headlines as one of Toronto’s top ten news events in 2017. His anti-war piece “Short-sightedness” made waves at the International Contemporary Art Exhibition in New York in 2023, earning global acclaim. Notably, “Shift,” another anti-war masterpiece, was exhibited at a United Nations Conference on Women and Children in 2023, advocating for global peace and humanitarianism.
Zuo Jin’s artistic endeavors have reached monumental scales, notably with his 1,000-foot oil painting “The Sea,” marking his largest thematic work to date. He created the “Olympic Action” series for the 2008 Olympic Games and his “Phantom Autumn” was officially collected by the 2020 Winter Olympics.
A versatile artist, Zuo Jin has showcased his works at prestigious institutions worldwide, including the National Art Museum of China, the London Olympic Art Competition, and the Carousel of the Louvre in Paris. Alongside his artistic pursuits, he has generously donated his paintings to support charitable endeavors, earning recognition as one of China’s top ten charitable artists by Beauty China, a renowned charity organization.

左晉，1968年⽣於河北，⾃幼酷愛繪畫，曾研修於中央美⽊學院，如今常居於加拿⼤、中國北京等地。他於2012年創⽴了加拿⼤中華藝術協會並出任會⾧，如今是加拿⼤油畫學會副會⾧、C9畫廊⾸席藝術家、悟像畫派創始⼈。
多年來，他致⼒於促進中加⽂化交流，在2012年被加拿⼤官⽅授予“中加⽂化交流使者”，也曾榮獲加拿⼤國會頒發的“伊麗莎⽩⼆世⼥王紀念勳章”。
左晉的作品以獨特的視⾓和技巧重新定位⾃然⾵景及⼈物，展現⼈與⼈、⼈與⾃然、⼈與⾃我以及⼈與宇宙的複雜⽽深刻的關係。左晉近⼆⼗年的作品涉及多種主題和⾵格，從社會問題到科幻想象，從寫實描繪、抽象表現到悟象⾵格的形成，多⽅位探索藝術創造⼒的表達。
其代表作品《膚⾊》在2015年美國當代藝術展期間引起強烈社會反響和關注，作品《有⾊眼鏡》系列曾成為2017加拿⼤多倫多⼗⼤新聞事件之⼀。反戰作品《短視》在2023年紐約國際當代藝術展引起巨⼤轟動，贏得各國藝術評論家的贊譽。反戰體裁作品《換位》在2023年聯合國婦⼥兒童⼤會展出，呼籲世界和平和⼈道主義，被全球主流媒體關注，被各藝術媒體詳盡報道。其千尺巨幅油畫《海》為⽬前為⽌最⼤的主題作品。他為2008年奧運會創作《奧動》系列作品； 2020年，他的作品《幻秋》更是被冬奧會官⽅收藏，成為了冬奧會的標誌性作品之⼀。
作為⼀名多才多藝的藝術家，左晉在中國美術館、倫敦奧運會美術⼤會和巴黎盧浮宮等知名機構都曾展出過作品。多年來他也⼀直獻拍畫作⽀持慈善事業，本⼈被美麗中國評為⼗⼤慈善藝術家。
